At a glance
- Illegal activity, spam, malware, harassment, phishing, and intellectual-property infringement are prohibited.
- Crypto mining, staking, validation, and similar blockchain-heavy workloads are prohibited.
- Resource fairness applies to CPU, storage writes, email volume, and monthly bandwidth allowances.
- HostNodex usually warns first, but severe abuse can trigger immediate restriction or suspension.
1. Prohibited uses
You may not use HostNodex services for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful activity.
- Spam, phishing, malware distribution, botnet activity, credential theft, fraud, harassment, or stalking.
- Hosting or transmitting unlawful, defamatory, obscene, exploitative, or infringing material.
- Crypto mining, staking, validation, blockchain processing, or comparable workloads that create abnormal platform load.
- TOR exit nodes, public VPN or proxy services for unrelated third parties, or DDoS mitigation-as-a-service offerings.
- Unauthorized scanning, probing, exploitation, or attempted access to systems you do not own or have permission to test.
2. Resource use and fairness
HostNodex enforces plan-based resource expectations and may apply automated or manual limits to protect service quality.
- CPU is subject to fair use. Short spikes are acceptable, but long-running abusive saturation may be throttled.
- Storage-heavy workloads may be slowed if they exceed platform write or read fairness thresholds aligned with upstream storage protections.
- Each VPS plan includes a defined monthly bandwidth allowance. Excessive traffic can lead to throttling, suspension, or a requirement to upgrade or purchase additional capacity where offered.
- Support access is also subject to fair use and must not be abused.
3. Email and security obligations
You must secure your VPS and prevent it from being used for abuse by third parties.
- Use strong passwords and secure keys for root or other privileged access.
- Do not send bulk mail or transactional mail in ways that violate relay rules, anti-spam requirements, or disclosed sending limits.
- Do not bypass outbound email restrictions or network controls without approval.
4. Abuse handling and response deadlines
If HostNodex forwards an abuse complaint or security notice to you, you must acknowledge it within 72 hours and take corrective action within a reasonable time communicated by HostNodex.
For urgent abuse, confirmed compromise, child-safety issues, large-scale attacks, or clear unlawful content, HostNodex may act immediately without prior warning.
5. Enforcement
Depending on severity, HostNodex may warn you, limit resources, suspend services, terminate services, reject future orders, preserve evidence, or cooperate with legal process and affected networks.
Refunds are generally not available when service is restricted or terminated because of an acceptable-use violation or other intentional breach.
